Rossopomodoro
Rossopomodoro, what a mouthful, try saying it- well once! Its that difficult; Rossopomodoro. By this point, Charlotte and I had been on many dates at my house; I and cooked, cleaned and watched great movies, we are really enjoying each others company. This is a random date, If my memory serves my correct then Charlotte had just finished work and I decided to sweep her off her feet to get dinner. Rossopomodoro is a Oven burning Pizzeria in Selfridges. We both had Pizza with coke and coffee afterwards (well I did). It was really tasty and we were in the chapter of our relationship which equates the indy music montage in Romantic movies where the couple get to know each other, and so we did! And Rossopomodoro is the right place for that, not too busy, not too formal, great atmosphere and plenty to look at so there are conversation starters.
The Soloman Cutler, Broad Street Wetherspoons
The third date rule sounds like an odd rule, is something meant to happen on the third day? Is there any given day which is meant to be a representation of an acceptable period in somebodies company that enables the progression of the relationship? Needless to say this date would not welcome smooching at the end of it. Welcome to Curry Night at Wetherspoons Broad Street, also known as the Soloman Cutler. Interestingly Soloman Cutler founded the Cutler glass works in the late nineteenth century at that site which his son expanded onto Broad Street… well maybe not that interesting if you aren’t into local history but its odd that Wetherspoons actually do research into the area before setting up shop. Anyways Charlotte and I set out for what may just be the foundation of the our relationship, the ground where we discovered intimacy, I do not mean anything crude by this; merely the shy arm of a young man going around the shoulder of a beautiful young woman on a sofa after indulging into quite spicy curries (well mine was a Welsh Dragon curry, I think Charlottes was one of them Tikka Massalas). All in all this was a wonderful date, and it just proves that a date does not have to be pricy to tick off all the romantic checklist signs.

Chaophraya- Spiceal Street
Hey, Good luck trying to
pronounce this great Thai restaurant on Spiceal Street. This is a relatively
new restaurant to Birmingham at the recently developed Spiceal Street right on
the doorstep of the Bullring. You will find it right next to Browns brasserie
and Jamie’s Italian that will hopefully be on here one day.
This is a vibrant
location full of life from the world famous Bullring shopping center with
cinemas, department stores and coffee shops at your convenience. The unusual
architecture is a joy for the eye and reminds me of log cabins you may find in
woods (quite weird woods). The restaurant is full of what I can only assume is
culturally relevant ornaments which mix well with the modern furniture and are
refreshing to look at amongst the jellyfish! That’s right, bit odd but there is
a jellyfish tank so it’s quite interesting to look at.
The staff is very welcoming
with the wide smiles and friendly gestures and easy to read menus. I am not
used to Thai restaurants and so I do not have much to compare it to, however
the food was glorious. I had the chicken Pad Thai, a dish I had heard only good
words from, not to be disappointed, had it not been for the class of the place
I would have jumped onto the table like a dog and lick the plate clean.
What Charlotte had is
beyond me but I know it was a lovely noodle and rice dish will cashews that
went very well, Good choice Ms. Russell.
Service fast
Great food
Great date
Little pricy but £30-£40 is
a short fee to spend a great time in the company of a great woman

That Darn First Date
Your stomach is dancing
around your internals to the tune of nervousness of the first meeting. This is
somebody you know from work and that's the way it usually works with
relationships: either from education or, more probably, the workplace. It’s a
risky business to ask someone out you have to see everyday; however I will have
it down on record that she initiated it.
A little bit of a backstory
to your blogger; I left college not too long ago after doing many A Levels, too
many for me to handle. This resulted in a year of confusion as to what to do
next in life so like all gap year students… I got a job. I tried a few before
stumbling onto one that I am comfortable in. Starbucks. Everything fit into
place finally. Savings, gym, part time Open University degree in English
Language and Literature, and I had a connection to other people which I had not
had in the last year as my friends had left for uni.
And that's where I had
met her. I’m sure many of you reading this have different romance stories and
would say that mine is ridiculously cliché’. I hadn’t had much success with
girlfriends, my friends had partners they had been with for 3 years; and they
were eighteen! So naturally one can assume that they must have something
amazing about them that you simply don’t possess, I was right however though
that they did possess something I lacked, the ability to see something good
when it is right in front of me.
So I started Starbucks as a
fresh face looking optimistically into the new career path I had chosen. I can
only extend the highest gratitude toward my manager as it allowed me to meet
Charlotte (who hopefully will be a recurring character in my blogs) and
although she thought I was daft, it must have worked because we are about to go
on a holiday together to surprise location- at least for Charlotte it is.
Back to the puddle of sweat
of a first date, I may over exaggerate for effect but I really was nervous. I
did not know her all to well and then there are other difficulties: where to
go, what to order and how to act. The fact is that you need an icebreaker; so
maybe going to Bella Italia on New Street Birmingham was a real drill of the
ice sheet between us. Forty minutes we waited, but it gave us a laugh, and
that's what you need, no formalities, no suits, just good simple icebreaker. To
be comfortable with each other.
And so it came to be that
worlds worst date was indeed to ideal first date. It must of worked I assume, I
didn’t come across as arrogant or vane but just somebody who you can have a
good time with, that's why I would suggest against the cinema (which
coincidentally turned out to be a great date at The Electric Cinema). But more
on that later
